- ‘Ir + a + verb’
- - In general, we use ‘Ir + a + infinitive verb’ phrases
when speaking of actions that will happen in the near future. We practiced this in Spanish 1 (Unit 5).

Examples: Yo voy a nadar.
I am going to swim.
Ellos van a comer pollo.
They are going to eat chicken..
- Future Tense
- - However, we use the future tense when referring to actions in the more distant future. - Hint:
The clue word in English is "will_____"
Examples: Yo nadaré el sábado.. I will swim on Saturday.
Ellos comerán pollo para La Navidad. They will eat chicken for Christmas.
Ellos comerán pollo para La Navidad.
For ‘-ar,’ ‘-er,’ and ‘-ir’ verbs, attach the following endings to the end of the infinitive:
