In class this week we will be talking about entrepreneurs...what is an entrepreneur? Attached is a list of entrepreneurial traits and a few questions to get you thinking about whether you would like to be an entrepreneur or not! Print out these two pages and answer the question, please!

There are lots of options for your future education! Many of those options are right in your back yard!
Do a little research about Heald College, a local college in Roseville, and come to class prepared with 3 written questions you might have about Heald College to determine whether this college might work for you!

This we we will concentrate on safety in the work place....a very critical part of your job today and in the future! Have you, a family member or a friend ever been hurt on the job? Ask around...write a short summary as to what happened and what was done to reduce the risk?

Customer Service - We all deal with customer service every day, whether on our jobs or as a customer. Watch this video and make a list of the good and bad customer service traits that are shown!!
Week of February 16, 2015 -
Paychecks, taxes, W2s...As we start this unit you need to be familiar with some of the terms involved with paychecks, taxes, etc. Complete the attached and bring to class! Have a good 4-day weekend! (or, hope you had a good 4-day weekend!) Also, bring in you W2 if you have not!

Be sure you have your 2104 W2 or a copy of it with you this week!
Week of March 2, 2015 -
We will definitely work on our W2 this week! In preparation, please print off a copy of a 2014 - 1040EZ from the internet!
Week of March 9, 2015 -
This week we will have several representatives from the Military talk with us about the possibilities that exist in some branch of the service. If time remains we will review for the quiz for next week on Paychecks and Taxes. Please come prepared with at least 3 questions for the military and 3 questions for review for the Paychecks and Taxes quiz!
Week of March 16, 2015 -
Come to class with your questions for review before the Paychecks and Taxes quiz! We will have the quiz after the review, so the more questions you ask the more prepared you will be!
Week of March 23, 2015 -
From a newspaper or ad on line, get an advertisement for an available housing that you might like to share with the roommates that you have chosen! Each roommate should have an ad for available housing. If you and your roommates chose to live outside of this area, you can find information on line about rentable housing in the area you want to live! Bring the ad to class!
Week of April 27, 2015 -
Whitney - This week's class will be about Identity Theft...please watch the video below and create 2 action steps for yourself to keep this from happening to you!
Rocklin - We will be talking about "Asking for a Raise" and "Leaving your Job" this week....please watch the video below and write a paragraph or two evaluating Joey's actions.
Week of May 4, 2015 -
This last unit focuses on people skills and critical thinking. We will discuss Leaders, Solvers, Writers, and Organized people. Pick one skill and prepare at least 2 paragraphs describing why you think you have that skill and why employers look for people with that skill.
