Johanna graduated from Del Oro High School in 2002 and played all four years. She went onto Yuba College were she received her AA, in 2004, and played for the 49ers making it to the play-offs both years. After her two years at Yuba College, Johanna went on to play her last two years at California Lutheran University where the team made it to the NCAA Div III National Tournament her senior season. In 2006, she earned her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from Cal Lutheran. In 2012 she earned her Masters degree from Concordia University- Irvine in Coaching and Athletic Administration. She is currently working for Sutter Health in their physical therapy department.

Johanna started her coaching career while at Yuba College, coaching for Club Momentum in 2003, and North Valley Volleyball Club in 2004. In 2007 she joined Rocklin High School’s coaching staff as the freshman assistant coach, as well as coaching various age groups for Rocklin Volleyball Club between 2008-2014. Since joining the program as an assistant, she has been the freshman head coach, JV head coach and now our Varsity assistant coach; getting to experience very successful seasons within the program. Not only is Johanna passionate about the sport of volleyball, but she enjoys the relationships that she creates with the coaches and athletes in a program she loves.

 

Kate Mitchell graduated from Rocklin High School in 2014 and played volleyball all four years, three years on Varsity. She played volleyball for four years at Southwest University in Texas and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics.  She returned to Rocklin and started coaching in our program this year.  Kate also will coach for our Rocklin Volleyball Club program. She is enthusiastic about coaching and volleyball!
