The summertime presents a great opportunity for students to take time to explore their career interests with or without their families.  Not everyone has ready access to internships, and summer jobs are often loaded with menial tasks (and poorly compensated).  Think about Summer Camps.  Rensselaer and WPI are internationally renowned engineering universities, and located on the east coast (New York and Massachusetts.  Embry-Riddle (in Arizona) is world renowned in Aeronautics.  All run some fantastic hands-on programs.
