Students in Graphic Communications I will be exposed to desktop publishing and printing methods in this hands-on technical and vocational education class. Students will master design for a variety of print mediums: advertising, publication design, posters, t-shirts and more.  Software training includes use of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.  An emphasis in placed on learning the principles and elements of design as well as color theory.  Students will be given the opportunity to design many of their own projects and may explore outside design work.

Students in Graphic Communications II focus on a more advanced curriculum and build a greater understanding and skill development in Desktop publishing and printing.  Students may serve as teaching assistants in directing and assisting beginning graphic students.  This may include the development of independent projects for clients both on and off site.  Ability to work independently is a must.  Students also publish Out of the BlueRocklin High School’s creative arts magazine, and work on media content for the weekly video production "The Show."

Tutoring labs are daily during Plus Period and each Wednesday from 2:45-3:45 pm.  Students are required to register with Mrs. Tackett for a lab time prior to attending a tutoring session.
